Wow. It's been FOREVER since I've posted here. Anyway, it's FLIP4BEARZ mixtime again and I'm serving you up a whole bunch of deep filtered & progressing discofied yummy treats! (Yes, I made up another genre again! LOL). I was only a wee little 'FLIP' back during the disco days, but they still had an amazing affect on me. There's nothing but some great beats to get lost in when you're feeling down. Bah, don't worry about me though. It's all about the MUSIC! I hope you enjoy it. Tell me what you think... **Oh yeah, I'm training to run a MARATHON for charity. If you like this mix, please consider donating. You can scan the QR code in my profile picture for more information. Thanks so much! TRACKLISTING:

(012011) The new year is surprisingly coming along pretty strong for me. Since I've started adding my podcast rss feed to the iTunes store via Soundcloud, I've gotten a lot of solid listeners and downloads that I can actually track on my own at least. Thank you all for the great feedback. Meanwhile, I'm back here on Pod-o-Matic at least for this episode. Soundcloud flagged me twice already for this mix because it "may include content that is owned or licensed by..." Thank you Sister Sledge & Bette Midler for your record label-bots! Ugh. Anyway, one of my early DJ mentors (Rob) back home in DC told me how he liked to tell stories with his mix sets. Hopefully you trainspotters out there can pick up on it. Please hit me up on here or on Facebook and leave comments. Thanks. *** Bette Midler - Come On-A My House (???)

Hey guys! Happy New Year!!! I just want to thank everyone who's been following me the past couple of years here on Pod-o-Matic. After I somehow maxed out on bandwidth last month on the free account, I realized that I've spread myself out way too thin on how I share my mixes. I'm currently investing in a paid account on Soundcloud which is a lot easier to use and post on. I even figured out how to get listed onto iTunes from there as well! Hit me up and say, "Hi!" In the meantime, I'm deleting all of my current mixes here except for one. See ya around.... - Mike http://www.flip4bearz.com

My teens occurred during the 80's in the Washington, DC/Maryland suburbs. Just like any teen, it was full of all kinds of angst, despair, joy, awkwardness, shame, issues with the parents...you name it! Being gay was just a part of me that I just didn't understand yet. It was never the issue that put me over the edge and make me want to cause any kind of self destruction though. I'm lucky I guess. Sure I got the occasional teasing, but being gay wasn't the sole reason for it. I was just known as the chubby Asian kid who liked new wave music. It's kind of funny thinking back in hindsight that the new wave and punk rock kids made up the alternative crowd at the time. They tended to be the gay ones too. Times were definitely different in the early-mid 80s. The recent news of the teens committing suicide because of the teasing, bullying, and the like is just heartbreaking. The accompanying gay hate that's coming into the forefront is just unnecessary too! My teen youth didn't include a lot of friends outside of school so I pretty much kept to myself and my record collection. I was all about not eating lunch and saving my allowance money so I could buy a new 12" dance single from the local record shop. Back then, my REAL friends were Bananarama, Culture Club, Erasure, Yazoo and The Thompson Twins (among many others)! This week's mix is probably my most POPTASTIC journey yet. Not many people really understand my point of view and the stories I try to tell with my song selections. After a listen or two, hopefully you will 'get it.' I want to dedicate this to those kids who we lost this week and to those who just don't know how to handle the pressures of growing up gay. Things really do get better. ***** TRACK LISTING: Hurts - Wonderful Life (Mantronix Remix) (2010)

Podcast SummaryI like house! Progressive, tribal, circuit, and everything in between. I've only been using Mixmeister Fusion for a couple of years.Don't be too critical, okay? LOL. About Mike AI'm resurrecting this account because I want to spread the word that I'm training to run a MARATHON this coming spring 2012! If you like my mixes, please consider donating towards my US$1600 goal. Just scan the QR code in my profile pic for more information. Thanks! *** I'm just your typical bedroom digital dj. After all of the years of collecting music from the 80's until now, I've decided to put some of my musical knowledge to the test. With the advent of programs like Mixmeister I've been able to play around with something that I've always wanted to do but not have the patience to keep up with in the past. I'm definitely a househead with a special penchant for UK 80's pop. Go figure! Check out my other mixes here: www.soundcloud.com/flip4bearz Followers
