I was actually able to put this together in a couple of hours. Lately, though, I've had to stretch it over a couple of days if not more. The big track for me this week is the Gabriella Cilmi one. The video is HOT. Someone also asked me this past week what style I consider my mixes. I tend to go with the progressive - electro vibe but with some retro/classic nods thrown in. Last week's mix didn't quite seem to hit it off with the "fans". LOL. I think it was the of least downloaded episodes ever. After a couple of listens to it myself, I am probably thinking I just delved too much into the 'back in the day choons." More so than normal at least. Oh well. This week, I've thrown in some classic tracks again but mashed up and reworked with a 2009 twist. I think it's sequenced a lot tighter and keeping in the same style too. I think next week marks my 1 year anniversary of making these mixes. These (almost) weekly adventures have definitely become a labor of love. It's been more than a learning process and I still think I still have a lot more ground to cover to actually consider myself a 'real dj'.

One of these days I will actually attempt to stay out of the 128 bpm range. I promise! LOL. This week brings you on a little journey with a "proggy-tech-pop" edge. I've got peaks and valleys galore and believe it or not, there are actual VOCALS in all of the tracks I chose too! The fun one that stands out is the Mary Jane Girls cover of 'Boys' by Lex Empress. Yeah, I'm telling you that this episode took me FOREVER (and over 3 days) to finish! The songs were just a tad bit more complicated and sequencing them correctly was a b*tch. Oh well, it's the end of summer and I can safely say that I did absolutely nothing interesting. Ha! I'm actually gearing up to go to Toronto next week for my baby brother's wedding. Hopefully I can swing in a detour to NYC to visit one of my best friends too.
